Bluetooth Speaker--for your outdoor camping

1. This is one of the coolest and most interesting bluetooth speakers I've seen. On the bottom is a light with high/low settings that is very bright on high. It can easily serve as a flashlight in an emergency or provide light whenever you need light outdoors, and not just for camping. If you twist the black base counterclockwise ever so slightly you'll have a pop-up lantern with light coming in all directions, and on top of the speaker is a retractable lantern handle. So in an instant you have a lantern that provides a decent amount of light.

2. At this price point the sound is very good. If you're looking for Bose quality or the deep bass of much more expensive speakers, that's just unrealistic, and frankly not something I've ever seen on any bluetooth speaker at this price point. Plus you're not going to bring something like that on a camping trip or for a casual outdoor function. For casual listening this is just fine, and is something I'll be using on my power boat this summer when I sit at the dock or out on the lake on a warm summer night. Out on the lake the lantern is a safety feature because in addition to my boat's running lights, it provides yet another source of light for other boaters to see my boat.

The sound on this is very powerful for a speaker this size, more powerful than comparable speakers I've tested. That's helpful for outdoor use where you don't have the walls of a room to reflect sound back.

3. This paired effortlessly with my iPhone 6. However I wish there was a way to get rid of the loud and annoying voice prompt each time you turn this on that says "Bluetooth Connected". There's another annoying voice prompt for initial pairing, but that happens only once per gadget. There are other annoying voice prompts when you reach maximum or minimum volume on this. These voice prompts need to go if the company makes another version of this in the future.

4. I like the way this looks and is made. Closed it's 2 3/8" high with a 3 5/8" diameter. Fully open it's 5" tall and the retractable handle when opened adds another 1 3/4". It weighs only 8.4 oz.The plastic isn't cheap looking at all, and the neon green is sharp and great for nighttime visibility.

5. This has an on/off switch on the side next to the micro USB port; a cable is included for charging, and a red LED light comes on to show charging is in progress. Further along the side is a control for the light, buttons that do double duty for volume up/down and forward/reverse, and a play/pause/phone button.
